#1, 1891 "5c." Red surcharge on 1c Black on lilac blue, centered a bit to bottom as are all genuine examples of this important rarity, part o.g., h.r., fine; only the first sheet of 100 was printed in red, but the impression was deemed to be unsatisfactory and the remaining printings of 2,900 stamps were done in black, and of the 100 stamps surcharged in red many were used, leaving fewer still mint examples available to collectors; 1996 Behr certificate; ex-Gibralter (Yvert #1A; €7,500)
